June Favourites

HEY, It’s approaching that time again when it calls for a favourites of the month post and this month I’ve had quite a few favourites so here they are!

1. Sleek Highlighting Palette

Clockwise from top left; Ecliptic, Hemisphere, Subsolar & Equinox

I have been in love with Mary Loumanizer since I first purchased it and I’ve always said it is my favourite highlighter ever… HOWEVER that was before I came across this Sleek Highlighting palette – I honestly have no words for how amazing this palette is and only £10!! Sleek describes this product as, “Solstice instantly enhances the complexion with a radiant glow, the highly pigmented metallic finishes create a gorgeous luminous sheen on the skin.” It comes in a pretty gold shiny packaging and enclosed are 4 different highlighters, Ecliptic which is a cream highlighter, Subsolar a silky shimmer powder and Hemisphere and Equinox are both baked powder highlighters.  IMG_2003

At the moment I have only properly used Equinox but I am SO excited to try out the rest as I’m intrigued to use the purpley one. I took the selfie above in natural light to try capture how amazing this highlighter looked when the sun was shining and just look at it!! Honestly amazing I am so in love. The one thing that annoys me is that the packaging gets dirty with fingerprints soooo easily but the product itself completely makes up for this! If I could recommend one beauty product to buy this month it would 100% be this palette – you won’t regret it!!

2. Sleek Idivine Eye Palette – All Night Long

I have never purchased any Sleek makeup up until these two purchases as they were on offer where if you bought one product you got one half price so of course I couldn’t resist. I am obsessed with eyeshadow palettes and I don’t believe you can ever have enough so I had to purchase a Sleek one to add to my collection. They have a variety of different eyeshadow palettes with different names however this one “All Night Long” contains 12 shades which are each named a different type of alcoholic drink which I really loved. These shadows are so pigmented and perfect to use for every day wear and I can’t wait to try out this palette fully on my next night out.

3. Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick

Okay so I am obsessed with highlighters and I have been eyeing up the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick for a while now but it’s always been a bit pricey and I could never quite convince myself to splurge and buy it.. However, my little sister recently went to China and whilst in duty free she picked up the shimmer brick for me as an early birthday present (I seriously have the best sister ever!!). It comes with a mirror which is of course always very handy and I just love the Bobbi Brown packaging. I find it easy to build up the pigmentation for how drastic or subtle you want your highlight to me and I prefer to sweep my brush across all colours instead of using them individually as it is much easier. I am sooooo scared to use this product a lot as it’s just so pretty to look at but I am definitely loving it so far!!

4. Bourjois Delice de Poudre Festival Peux

I find it extremely hard to branch out and find new bronzers as I never know if they’re going to be too dark and not fit my skin tone and make my face look dirty so I don’t tend to buy many bronzers I stick to my chubby stick and Bahama Mama. However I used to use the Bourjois Délice de Poudre bronzing powder & highlighter duo and I absolutely loved it so when I was in Superdrug and saw they were doing 3 for 2 on all make up products I decided to buy a new bronzer and this Bourjois limited edition one caught my eye with it’s pretty Summer themed packaging. Firstly, this product smells amazing!! It honestly smells like chocolate it’s heaven I absolutely love it!! I find this bronzer doesn’t need to be used for contour and can be applied lightly for a subtle bronzed glow and I know that I’m going to be using this product so much on holiday when I’m starting to tan and not wear a lot of makeup but I just want a nice bronzed glow this will be my go to product!

5. Lottie London, Lottie Make Me Blush Brush

I own waaaaay too many makeup brushes but I never feel I have enough so I really wanted a brush to use to apply my new bronzer and I decided to give the Lottie London brushes another go.. If you read my ‘My Newcastle Buys!’ blog post you would see that my first experience purchasing a Lottie brush wasn’t the best, I got back to my hotel to find the head of the brush had fallen off so the next day I had to trail back and return it to Superdrug for the same thing to happen not even a month later, so yeah I was very disappointed but I’m not sure if it was maybe just a faulty brush or something because so far so good (TOUCH WOOD) the brush doesn’t seem to be lose and is doing it’s job perfectly. Plus the colour is a very pretty lilac and a lovely addition to my brushes.

6. Champney’s Citrus Blush Enlivening Body Lotion

I’m always looking for new body lotions and my mum gave me this one to try out and once i’ve came out the shower and applied it it makes my skin feel extremely hydrated and it smells honestly amazing, it smells like Summer if that even makes sense it’s just citrusy and reminds me of sun cream and I’m not too sure why but I can’t stop smelling my arms once I’ve applied it, it’s became my new favourite moisturiser for this month and I get so excited to apply it.

7. Me Before You

So moving on from makeup products…. I have been wanting to see this film for AGES and I finally got to go watch it a couple of weeks ago at the cinema and it did not disappoint!! I literally broke my heart crying it was by far one of the saddest films I’ve saw in a while I was sobbing uncontrollably whilst my mum just laughed at me and my sister at the state we were in. I was an absolute emotional wreck but seriously it really is heartbreaking and if  you love films like The Notebook etc or just a good chick flick then I recommend you go see this film it really is amazing and I’m now dying to read the book! Plus Sam Claflin isn’t too bad to look at either………

8. Love Island

So a couple of weeks ago I was extremely ill with tonsillitis and it caused me to hardly be able to leave my bed and therefore I missed a full week of work so I was bored stiff in the house but during the day the Euro’s helped keep me occupied however at night I had nothing to watch at all, that was until I decided to start watching Love Island as I had missed last years and wasn’t sure if I was going to like it.. I AM HOOKED!! I am loving it sooooo much and I don’t know what I’m going to do when it finished like I’m going to be so lost without it on my TV every night.. I am rooting for Cara and Nathan so much or Scott and Kady, I seriously speak about the cast like they’re my best friends I am that obsessed with it! I am so upset that I’m going to miss the final as I will be heading to Magaluf that day but I’m hoping I’ll be able to catch it somewhere!

9. Primark

This month I have been rushing about trying to basically buy a brand new Summer wardrobe as I hate all the Summer clothes I bought last year (Why does that always happen?!) So as I am extremely skint at the moment as I am still paying for my flat in Aberdeen even though I’ve moved home Primark was the main shop for me as I was on a budget and normally I don’t find much at all but this month Primark really surprised me!! I found so much nice clothes that didn’t look like Primark at all and got myself a few good bargains including a handbag which was reduced to a fiver!! (This will feature in my next blog post!) I know that when I go to Magaluf my clothes will end up being stained by drinks or suncream will rub off on them and make them that horrible yellowy colour so I really do grudge spending loads of money on Summer clothes when they’ll probs get wrecked anyway so I am SO thankful for Primark and it has 100% been my favourite shop this month!!
